I have always been interested in value practices, however I typically only worked in gray-scale.For this piece, I utilized color to capture the textures and unique lighting. The glass bottle wasmy initial focus, but I soon realized how the bows interacted with the bottle was so captivating.Creating diverse colors to understand their relationship to the orange bottle became the biggest, but the most rewarding challenge. Layering colors became my biggest tool, giving me the desired results and the ability to create the silky texture of the bows. Paying close attention to the highlights also proved vital since the lamp I had aimed on my still life created vibrant light areas. I also focused on verticality in this piece for the composition, suggesting the slenderness of the bottle but never revealing the entirety of it.
