I am a fine art photographer, using light and color to create imagery that is evocative and stylized. I use daylight, torches or flash guns to bring to life the sketches that I have drawn inspired by fashion and beauty imagery. Bold colors, a full pictorial space and deep shadows are all characteristic of my work. I create all sets and effects in real life, using very little editing, and work in an intimate collaborative unit with my team.

Studying history introduced me to how different people consciously and subconsciously construct their own identities using tools such as politics, clothing, and art. Reflecting on the present day, I am fascinated with how people use fashion and beauty to construct their own understanding of self, and express it to the world. This exploration has made my own identity increasingly difficult to decipher and understand. Through portraiture, nude studies, and even still life, I use photography to explore and demystify constructions of beauty, for others and for myself. I also love to play with medium and the tension between fine art portraiture and commercial photography, placing emphasis on the viewer to determine which is which, or even if such a distinction exists.

As a photographic artist from London, I grew up surrounded by galleries and fashion publications that sparked an interest in the beauty of the human form. Inspired, I began working in editorial photography as creative director of my university fashion show, where I soon discovered I was fascinated with the people rather than the clothes. I later studied history of art and renaissance portraiture, whilst developing my own portfolio of portrait images in the studio and dark room.
