Self-Portrait

Graphite on Paper

32" x 48"

Not just because of the time commitment or scale, but also because of how intimidatingit was. There is something extremely intimidating about learning so much about yourface.
This was the most challenging drawing I've ever done not only because of its size, butalso trying to learn new techniques to draw my hair texture. There's also something veryintimidating about having to learn so much about your face for such a long period ofTime

My name is Selinee Tejada Morillo and I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Bronx, New York. While studying architecture at Lehigh University these past four years, I have been able to explore my passion for drawing through a variety of classes. I'm a self taught artist and have always specifically enjoyed realistic portrait drawing. Whether it be from fictional characters to my closest friends and family members, being able to captivate someone's likeness has always given a purpose and satisfaction to my drawings.
